MACHALILLA NATIONAL PARK
 


Machalilla National Park is located in downtown area of the West Coast Region of Ecuador; southwest of the Province of Manabi have a 727800 area ha. It is considered one of the most beautiful countryside of the Coast. Its main attraction is the island of Silver Beach and the Friars.
It has a vegetation that dominates much of the parish, with thorn scrub and dry, except forest heights forest where there is drizzle.
The faunal diversity of the Machalilla National Park, in the marine and terrestrial areas, is represented by 81 species of mammals, 270 birds and 143 fish. The main access road is the road between Puerto López-jipijapa north and south Nyanza.
.Machalilla National Park is important for the following characteristic.


  • Only marine protected area in the continental Ecuador.
  •  Limits reefs of southern and eastern Pacific.
  • Distribution is the location of many tropical marine species.
  • Important areas of outcrop.
  • Located in the transit routes of migratory species.

Natural wonders of Ecuador (the guayas river)

THE GUAYAS RIVER

The Guayas River rises against the city Guayaquil, Ecuador's main port and located on the right bank of the river, by the confluence of the Duale Babahoyo and rivers. His mouth forms an estuary, eastern province and together with the Estero Salado, west, forming a gulf, called the Gulf of Guayaquil in the Pacific Ocean.
This basin covers an area of ​​40,000 km2 and is one of the largest potential resources available to Ecuador. It is the largest river basin of the Pacific coast of South America.
The major tributaries are the Guayas Babahoyo Duale and the rivers that flow to Vinces, Puebloviejo, Zapotal and Yaguachi and form the densest redfluvial the coast and the most useful for navigation.
Guayas Basin encompasses not only the political and administrative boundaries of the province of Guayas but a much wider area. Its economic projection favor nine provinces, especially Guayas, Manabi and Los Rios Pichincha.
The plain of Guayas is provided with fertile alluvial soils and therefore agriculture is the activity that benefits a priority form of development of the Guayas river basin, in addition to logging.
